How this site and my YouTube channel make money, spelled out in plain English. This policy applies to everything on campingguidance.com and the accompanying Camping Guidance YouTube channel.
The short version: links here can earn me a commission, ads pay me, and my rankings are not for sale. The long version is below.

What this covers
Camping Guidance is a personal blog written by me, Liz. I share everything I know about camping, hiking, and backpacking, including products related to these hobbies. My YouTube channel, Camping Guidance, carries much of the same content in video format. This disclosure policy covers both the website and the channel.

How I’m compensated
I may be compensated by advertisers, affiliate sales, and product sales for the time and effort that goes into the blog posts and videos I share with you. Here’s each one:

Links in my blog posts and YouTube videos are affiliate links, so I may earn a commission if you click through and purchase something. But don’t worry: I only ever recommend products that I use and love. As you can probably tell from my videos and custom pictures, I personally buy, test, and rigorously compare all products before ever making a recommendation.

What the money never changes
The money I receive from these avenues will not affect the quality of the content I write or the opinions that I have. All opinions are my own, formed after weeks and months of testing each individual product, plus my years of camping and hiking experience. This Camping Guidance website (https://campingguidance.com/) and the accompanying Camping Guidance YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/@CampingGuidance) are both participants in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for us to earn fees by linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites. So basically: as an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.
It is also important to remember that prices change quickly on Amazon, so you will need to confirm that the price I share in each blog post and each YouTube video is the price you pay prior to finalizing your purchase. All prices that I mention, whether on this blog or my YouTube channel, are prices that I personally paid for each product (yes, I pay for my own products!), and they may not be reflective of the current price on Amazon.
